Abstract: This article reports a study on the synthesis and propertiesis of thioethers bi-equivalent magenta couplers.Experiments carried on color negative film and color paper showed that these bi-equivalent couplers perform higher photographic activity and higher stability compared with conventional quadra-equivalent magenta couplers and are also different from DIR couplers.
