In Tibet, Mongolia, etc., a priest or monk of the belief
called Lamaism.
{The Grand Lama}, or {Dalai Lama} [lit., Ocean Lama], the
supreme pontiff in the lamaistic hierarchy. Until the
Chinese occupied Tibet he resided in Lhasa, but now (1998)
