The nonlinear dynamic response of a seismically mounted rotating machine is investigated.The rotating machine is subjected to internal forces caused by the eccentric mass of the rotor.A two-degree-of-freedom vibration differential equation set is formed to describe nonlinear dynamic behavior of the roating machine isolated by interposing the resilient material with cubic nonlinear stiffness.The method of multiple scales is then used to determine the superharmonic responses of the system respectively under non-internal resonance and internal resonance conditions.The model,analytical method and conclusions developed in the paper are of positive significance to the accurate design of vibration isolators for rotating machines.5refs.
