Abstract: By means of radiation modes,a new method for active structural noise control is developed with the simply supported rectangular panel plates as examples.The physical characteristics and mathematical meaning of the radiation modes are represented.The radiation efficiency will be reduced quickly if mode number is increased at low frequency.The active control is achieved with pointforces as control force and the minimization of radiated acoustic power as control strategy.And the results of the simulations are carried out.
